The CT scan is primarily used in our patients with ear diseases that require a deeper, more thorough look in places where the video otoscope cannot “see” such as structures behind the ear drum.
Ultrasound (sonography) uses high-frequency sound waves to produce images of the inside of the body. Radiation is not used with ultrasound. The Dermatology team most often uses ultrasound to obtain urine samples via cystocentesis.
Digital x-rays may be obtained to evaluate various conditions.
