Meet Dr. Don Beebe, DVM, Diplomate AVDC

Dr. Don Beebe is a 1993 graduate of the University of Florida, College of Veterinary Medicine. During his first ten years in general practice he developed a genuine passion for dentistry. In 2003, Dr. Beebe left general practice to pursue a specialty residency in Dentistry and Oral Surgery at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. During his residency, he acquired expertise in a wide range of advanced dental and oral surgical techniques. He also gained proficiency in teaching students, veterinarians, technicians, and the general public about veterinary dentistry. Following completion of his residency, he sat for and successfully passed the three-day national board certification examination, earning the prestigious title of Diplomat of the American Veterinary Dental CollegeTM.

Lauren Richman, DVM, Chief Resident

Dr. Richman is a Denver area native.  She attended the University of Denver for her undergraduate degree and obtained her veterinary degree in 2008 from St. George’s University, School of Veterinary Medicine, in Grenada, West Indies.  She completed a 1-year internship at Wheat Ridge Animal Hospital followed by 3 years as an emergency clinician in Santa Fe, New Mexico and 8 years in general practice back in Colorado before joining Apex in 2021 to pursue a 3 year dental residency program through the American Veterinary Dental CollegeTM.  Over the last decade she has developed an intense passion for dentistry and the impact the mouth can have on quality of life for our pets. Outside of work, Dr. Richman loves spending time with her husband and son, and their dog Fennel. They love to travel, road bike, ski, and spend time exploring the outdoors.

Eric Song, DVM, Resident in Dentistry and Oral Surgery

Dr. Song is a second year resident in advanced dentistry and oral surgery. Dr. Song was proudly raised in Austin, Texas. His passions for veterinary medicine and outdoor adventure led him to the Rocky Mountains where he received both his Bachelor of Science degree and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Colorado State University. In addition to veterinary medicine, Dr. Song is a mountain biker and avid sport climber and boulder. When he is not practicing dentistry, he is likely out climbing or riding with his wife, who is also a veterinarian, or camping with his dogs Mulan and Roxy. Dr. Song loves dogs and cats of all shapes and sizes and particularly adores Miniature Schnauzers. Welcome Dr. Song!

Brittany, CVT, Practice Manager

Originally from Nebraska, Brittany moved to Colorado in 2011 to pursue her passion for animals and attended The Bel Rea Institute of Veterinary Technology. Brittany started her career in general practice where she discovered her great appreciation for veterinary dentistry. As practice manager, Brittany strives to provide specialized patient care and excellent customer service. In her free time you will find her tending to her numerous house plants and enjoying everything Colorado has to offer with her husband and son – from seeing live music to hiking with their Samoyed/Husky, Bindi.

Holly, CVT, VTS (dentistry)

We are lucky to have Holly on our team! She brings a great enthusiasm to learn and is always striving to keep our patients comfortable and safe. Holly graduated from Community College of Denver in 2012 and also holds two Bachelor of Science degrees. One of Holly’s passions when not with us at Apex is to commit herself to non-profit work. She makes monthly trips to the Four Corners area to volunteer on spay/neuter teams.

Chelsea, CVT

Chelsea graduated Bel-Rea Institute in 2012 and has a passion for animal behavior and dentistry. She strives to make the patient’s experience as stress free as possible so they enjoy coming in for their appointments. In her spare time she likes to volunteer, hike with her two dogs, and play with her cat, Naji.

Donna, CVT

Donna comes to us with extensive experience in both animal care and management. She is an important part of the team because she is always available to lend an ear and spend time helping clients with their four-legged friends. When not at Apex, Donna is likely spending time caring for her numerous animals at her little “farm” including horses, mules, goats, dogs, cats, and chickens.

Brenna, CVT

Originally from Longmont, Brenna moved back to Colorado in 2020 from the Bluegrass State of Kentucky. She earned her Veterinary Technology degree from Murray State University in 2018. During her years in general practice, Brenna discovered her passion for animal dentistry. She strives to provide the best patient care to all of the animals she works with as well as making them feel safe and comfortable. Outside of work Brenna enjoys hiking with her Huskies, taking care of her many plants, reading a good book, and exploring all of Colorado.

Kerry, CVT

Kerry moved to Denver from Ames, Iowa in 2010 to follow her dreams of living in the mountains and attend Bel-Rea Institute of Animal Technology, where she earned an associates degree of applied sciences.  Kerry has a passion for dentistry and finds each day at Apex exciting and rewarding.  Although after 10+ years of working with small animals, she is currently going back to school in pursuit of a nursing degree.  In Kerry’s spare time she likes to see live music, bake for friends, and enjoy all of Colorado’s beauty with her husband and rescue dogs and cat.

Shannon, CVT

Shannon graduated from Oklahoma State University with a BA in Psychology, swiftly moved to Denver in 2010 and pursued becoming an Animal Assisted Therapist via volunteer work prior to finding the appropriate graduate program. During that break while volunteering at a horse sanctuary Shannon became enthralled with the veterinary medicine she observed. Within a few years she had the privilege to be a part of CCD’s pilot Veterinary Technician Apprenticeship program and began working in GP during her academic studies. Upon graduation in May 2022, she found specialty dentistry to be a great fit in her passion for excellent veterinary nursing standards. In her free time she can be found reading, cooking, exploring everything Nature has to offer from hiking, biking to rock climbing and playing with her two beloved cats, Quattro and Gizmo.

Maritza, Technician Assistant

Maritza is a technian assistant who discovered her passion working with animals straight out of high school in 2019. Currently attending Arapahoe Community College, she hopes to further her career tending to domestic animals and wildlife wit h a degree in Biology. In her free time, she likes to watch movies, read, and spend time with her four fur babies Chacho, Rex, Lilo and Nala.

Kate, Technician Assistant

Kate is a Denver area native and a passionate advocate for animal dental health. She began her veterinary career in 2017 by volunteering with a nonprofit spay and neuter clinic for cats, and she also worked as a relief assistant for a variety of veterinary hospitals before joining the Apex team in 2022. She is extra enthusiastic about our feline friends, and strives to ensure that every cat feels safe and comfortable in the veterinary setting. In her off time, Kate loves to visit national parks and go on birding trips. She lives with her two cats, her chiweenie, and the occasional foster kitten.

Nicole, Client Services

Nicole moved to Colorado in 2016 from Chicago. She started as a CSR in 2020 with the Emergency department at VRCC. She enjoys working in this field as everyday is a learning experience. In her spare time she enjoys paddle boarding with my vizsla Loyd, hiking and living life with friends and family.

Megan, Client Services

Megan is a CSR with a love for animals all shapes, sizes, and species. She moved to Colorado from Long Island, New York and it was one of the best decisions she ever made. Megan’s experience in veterinary care started with the Internal Medicine department at VRCC. It truly sparked her interest in all veterinary specialties. When she’s not answering phones at Apex, she can be found hiking with her dog Julius Caesar Salad or playing in the dirt in her home garden filled with various herbs and vegetables. Outside of her day job, Megan enjoys performing with her dance company at multiple venues throughout the Denver area.
