A board-certified veterinary dermatologist is a veterinarian who has completed additional training as a dermatology resident after veterinary school and an internship. A rigorous and comprehensive examination must also be passed to become board-certified in veterinary dermatology (which includes allergy) by the American College of Veterinary DermatologyTM (ACVD).
