Management of Oral Pathology: A cooperative Effort Between the GP and Specialty Practice

Perhaps more than any other body system, advanced oral and dental health are achieved through a cooperative effort between the general practitioner and the specialist. Most dental treatment is under the purvey of the pet’s family veterinarian. However, there are complicated cases that might require the input of the dental specialist. This presentation will review the oral conditions that fall into the gray area, to help in determining if a patient should be managed in-house or referred for specialty care.

oral tumors
maxillofacial trauma
tooth injuries
miscellaneous interesting oral pathology

Dr. Don Beebe is a board-certified specialist in dentistry and oral surgery. He is the founder of Apex Dog and Cat Dentistry, previously located at VRCC. He is co-owner of the new Apex Veterinary Specialists in Greenwood Village, which offers specialty Dentistry, Ophthalmology, Dermatology, and Anesthesia services.
